A Humans of Purpose Academy program
The DFV Workplace Support Program
Specialist domestic and family violence support for your workplace, delivered by trauma-informed practitioners and specialists with lived experience.
The case
When domestic violence affects your people, it affects your business.
Your employees need trauma-informed, specialist support.
1 in 5
women in your workforce have lived experience of domestic and family violence.
$235M
carried directly by employers each year in lost productivity.
The $235M figure is from the Australian Human Rights Commission (2015): of a projected $9.9 billion annual cost to the Australian economy, $235 million would be borne by employers.
71%
of employers feel confident they could identify and respond to an employee experiencing domestic and family violence.
8.3%
of survivors say their workplace took an active role in supporting them.
That gap is what this program closes.

Four years of experience, brought into your workplace.
Humans of Purpose Academy has spent four years supporting women rebuilding their lives after trauma. The DFV Workplace Support Program brings that experience directly into your workplace.

Why employers partner with us
Five reasons it works.
Trauma-informed counselling better supports your employees to thrive
Our experts are trained specifically in domestic and family violence and coercive control, not general counselling. It's the specialist support survivors say makes the real difference, not just getting through the day, but staying engaged and moving forward at work.
Specialist support keeps her more likely to stay engaged at work
Women affected by domestic and family violence often reduce their hours, take unplanned leave, or step back from their role over time. With the right specialist support, she's far more likely to remain connected to her work and her team.
It reduces the cost of losing good people
Turnover, absenteeism, and the cost of replacing capable staff all fall when the right support is in place, and the talent you already have stays and grows with you.
It meets your legal and safety obligations
Covers your responsibilities under the Fair Work Act, Respect@Work, and psychosocial hazard requirements under the WHS Act, where general employee assistance programs fall significantly short for women with lived experience of domestic and family violence.
It signals a real commitment to more than just wellbeing
Support like this communicates to your people, especially women, that their wellbeing, career progression, and financial stability all matter to you, not just written into policy. That shapes culture well beyond the individuals who use it directly.
How it works
From first call to first login.
-
Your organisation joins as a DFV Workplace Support Partner
You're onboarded as a partner, with access set up for your whole workforce.
-
Internal rollout
Your organisation shares one confidential access link internally, in whatever way suits your workplace, such as an email to all employees, a page on your intranet, or a message from HR.
-
Employees engage, privately
Employees set up their own private login using a personal email address, so nothing connects back to their work account. They engage entirely on their own terms.
-
Support, on her terms
She accesses the program at her own pace, without needing to disclose anything to anyone at work.
-
We report back, in aggregate
You receive regular updates on participation and usage across your organisation. Individual identities are never disclosed, anonymity is always protected.

Questions
Frequently asked questions.
Is this only for large organisations?
No, this is built to work for organisations of any size, whatever stage you're at.
What if we already have a DFV policy or EAP in place?
That's a great starting point. In our co-design research, 98% of women told us their current workplace support and employee assistance program hadn't adequately supported them through domestic and family violence. This is a specialist program designed to sit alongside what you already have, filling the gap a generalist program doesn't address.
Will we know who's using it? What data will we receive?
Not at an individual level, and that's intentional. You'll still receive regular, aggregate reporting on engagement and usage, so you can see the program is working, without knowing the specific employees who are accessing it.
What if nobody uses it?
It's normal for uptake to build gradually, especially early on as trust is built. Most women take time to feel safe enough to engage, and that's exactly why privacy and trust are built into every part of this program.
What happens on a discovery call?
We'll walk you through the program in more detail, answer your questions and get a clearer picture of your organisation's needs.
How long does it take to get set up?
On average we are live within two weeks, pending internal decisions and sign-off. There's nothing technical required, the platform sits entirely outside your systems.
